About Us

Food Trip is an independent travel and food publication. We start from a real place you are already likely to visit - a capital, a coast, a mountain region, a small town - and work outward to what makes it worth eating in. Every city guide on this site folds sightseeing and local food into one plan, because in most places the two are the same walk.

How we choose what to cover

We write about destinations travellers already have on a list: the headline cities of Western and Northern Europe, the under-served gems of the east, the UK and Ireland, and a handful of North American favourites. Where a place is hard to reach, hard to eat in, or widely misunderstood, it moves up the list.

What you will not find here

We do not accept payment for coverage, we do not publish sponsored guides, and we do not reproduce text or images from other publications. Place and dish names are used descriptively.
